Christmas 2010

We had such a wonderful Christmas...it wasn't all the parties, presents, yummy food or all the other great stuff that comes with Christmas, that made it so wonderful ..but it was my Special Phone Call from one Cute Missionary that made it so GREAT!!!! and even better than that we got to SKYPE..Ok soo for all those (like anyone reads my blog) but for all those who don't know what skype is,  it means we got to talk to Brody over the computer ...YEAH!!!! He looks sooo great and sounded great.  I am soo very blessed to have such AWESOME Kids and I really am so proud of Brody for his dedication to serve faithfully.
Anyways I don't have any pictures of Brody..yet...but here is some picture from all the fun we had this year...

So We started off Christmas on Christmas Eve because I was not leaving my house Christmas Day.. I wasn't going to miss my phone call :0)  Anyways we went to visit Grandma McDermott and Grandma Montgomery..it was great.. I really enjoyed going a day early.. we was able to stay and visit and didn't feel rushed at all.. They Are two amazing women I love them both soo much..
Then Santa dumped his sleigh in my front room.. It was hard for me cause I was missing my Sunshine..but I tried to keep the tears back until we opened his gift and his card he sent us.. then there was no stopping the tears...and tears... and more tears....
Then after we stopped our crying we finished with presents and got ready for the great George Christmas Breakfast.  Uncle Brady made the chipped beef gravy and it always taste soo great on Christmas Morning..We enjoyed everyones company and then my present arrived at 3:00 sharp..I had to video the whole thing so it will last me awhile.  Later that night we enjoyed Christmas dinner with two of my favorite people..Kelly's Mom and Dad.. We are soo Thankful that Grampa is with us this year...it was Christmas Day last year when we almost lost him.. They are such great examples to me and I don't know what we would do without them.
One fun tradition we have is on Christmas day night...if that makes sense...after everyone has come and gone the kids have their name presents that they save so they have one last present to open on Christmas Night.. I love this tradition.. Soo all in all it was good times.. I can't believe another year has come and gone..I have a 19 year old on a mission in Alabama...and my baby is going to be 4 in May.. Time just comes and goes soo fast.. So Here's to 2011 and to more time enjoying the simple pleasures of life.. Number 1 enjoying every minute I have here on this earth with my family...I thank Heavenly Father each and every day for my family and I am soo grateful that soo long ago in a stable a baby boy came to this earth and made it possible for me to spend eternity with them too.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Years Too!!!

  1. I love all the siblings giving each other loves! So sweet!!! And is their Christmas day night present from each other then? That's a fun idea! I'll have to remember that! That way it isn't just lumped in with all the others. I think it's important for them to get each other something and for them to get mom and dad something. It would be nice for them to have the time to appreciate it and to watch each other open them! :o)
Still can't believe you have a missionary! So glad you got to talk to him!!! Great idea to video it!!

  2. Oh! I forgot to say that we bagged leaving to go anywhere Christmas Day this year too! I put my foot down and said I was staying home on Christmas. My family has always done Christmas Eve so that's nice (although this year made me not want to do that either. Maybe I'm getting bah-humbuggy in my old age but I want it to be about MY little family. We didn't get to do anything Christmas Eve like WE'd wanted to (read stories, the story of Jesus out of the scriptures, have hot chocolate and a treat, etc.)) :o( And we asked Ry's fam to do breakfast like they always do that morning instead of on Christmas, which they did (they are SOOO wonderful!!). It was nice to just take time to open presents and play and hang out together!!
Merry (late) Christmas and I hope your new year is FABULOUS!!!!!
