So far this year we have been off to a crazy start. On Christmas day we had to have Grandpa George taken by ambulance down to St. Marks Hospital. It was a very scary time and we thought we were going to lose him. The doctors found that a herniea that he had for several years had ruptured and he was slowly filling up with fluid. They did emergency surgery and took out 14 inches of intestine and cleaned it all out. He has been making steady improvement and on Jan. 8th we had him transfered to Promise Hospital in SLC. He has been making steady progress and is even able to sit up on the end of the bed and go partially through the day with out his ventalator hooked to his trac. We sure miss having Grandpa around and our love and prayers are constanly with him and Nana.
As for the rest of us, the kids are geting big and all involved in their own activities. Our little family is grown up right before our eyes and Merianne and I are amazed of how old we feel some days.
Brody is in his second quarter of college at Weber State University. He is taking his generals and really loves school. It is a huge change from high school and he sure is studing alot more. He is also prepaing to go on a mission in June and is working really hard reading the scriptures to help prepare him. Brody will make a tremendous missionary and touch the lifes of those around him.
Zack is involved in the school play again and singing in the Royal and Chamber Choir at Roy High. He loves performing and is trying to get a job this summer working for Lagoon in the entertainment department putting on musicals. Zack also is working hard in school and wants to go into the entertainment field in college. I think he would love to be the next "American Idiol. We love his passion for performing and are very proud of him.
Abbey is growing up in to a lady right before our eyes. She is involved in sports as always and loves to compete in what ever she is doing. Abbey has great grades and keeps telling us that she wants to be a baby doctor. She will do great at whatever she decides to do, and lil' sister Kenzie is giving her plenty of mommy training daily. Abbey is getting ready for track season at Roy Jr. and is taking a break after playing Volleyball and Softball for the school. Her passion in life is Softball (Right after CHOCOLATE) and she is a very good player that loves competition.
Kolby is Kolby. He just finished another awesome football season were he finally got to play with the kids in his grade instead of 1 or 2 years older and WOW! Kolby is now playing on a comp basketball team that is awesome even though he reminds us all the time that he is a football player that just plays basketball for fun. I also think he likes to set picks on people too. Kolby is working hard in school and sure misses giving Grandpa a hard time. Kolby loves to work and is a great helper at what ever you are doing.
And then there is Kenzie baby. Little miss Independant is growing up so fast that she is constantly saying thing that shock and amaze us all. She is starting to do the potty training thing and loves to be in control of what ever she is doing. She keeps us all on our toes, and if the truth be know, runs the house. She loves to go to
WVAL-MART, get chicken nuggets and french fries and any time she does anything good, wants a shake (sounds like abbey is rubbing off). The other day merianne took one of her cheeto balls that was laying on the counter and she said," Mommy that is ridiculous" Merianne dang near fell over laughing. She is a special spirit hat we have been truly blessed with.
As for Merianne and me, we are working hard and trying to stay sane. Merianne's daycare is doing fantastic and she is watch lots, and lots of kids. She loves her basement daycare center that we finished last winter and she love to be able to shut the door and come upstairs after a long day. She stays busy with daycare, taking neighbors dinners and goodies and occassionly scrapbooking. As for me, I have been teaching at Roy Jr. and coaching as always. We had a good year in football and I am looking forward to track season and the summer break. I just took a big test for teaching and hopefully I will pass it. Then one more history test and I'll be done with that nonsense.
We love West Heaven and are blessed to have such a great family, lovely house and the gospel in our lives.
Hi Guys!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like life is awesome!! We're doing the potty training thing with the boys too. Can't believe how fast time flies. Brody a missionary...nuts. That is great! Tell Zack to look into Western Wyoming Community College. It's a really small college and even though it's a community it totally feels like a small town junior college. Anyway, they have a HUGE musical theater program. Not many theater programs in the state are focused on the musical theater side. The directors name is Jamie Young (LDS, also not found very often) He only does clean shows. Oh, and the big perk is that you can get it absolutely free. There is a Senior Scholarship that will pay your tuition if your grades are high enough and if you audition and Jamie likes you then the theater pays for your room and board (That's including food). So it's a pretty sweet deal for the first two years of your college experience. You graduate with your associates and your in an awesome environment away from home. They have a tight institute and college branch so he will be well taken care of. So there's some food for thought. Love you guys. Tell Abby and Kolby I said hi. And it's WONDERFUL to know that Merianne is doing so great with the daycare:)!!!
